San Juan; The Spanish festival

On the 23rd of June, the Spanish celebrate the festival of Saint John (san juan). Fire is an important part; dating back to pagen times, lighting a bonfire is said to cure back luck and rid your sins. Water is another vital part of the festival, after a fire display hundreds of people will take a midnight dip, it is meant to 'cleanse your sins'. I joined in this year in a town not to far from Gibraltar, it was great fun, here are a few photos from the trip.

Wednesday night sailing, Essex

I went with the cadets, including my younger sister, out on the Blackwater Estuary. As the sun set I got a few nice photos of the boats sailing into the light.

Rhydian Roberts

Do you remember Rhydian Roberts? After coming out of the X Factor Rhydian has been performing in musicals, concerts and his own shows. My Grandma is a huge fan of his and I have had the privilege of going round the country with her; He featured in Grease, We Will Rock You and War of the Worlds, released four albums, appeared on television shows (I would get a phone call from my grandma to tell me), and then made his own eight-part series on the Welsh Channel S4C. He is an amazing performer, professional and a  powerful singer, he puts all of his effort into every performance. My favourite album is 'Caneuoun Cymraeg' (Welsh Album). If you want to find out everything else he has done go to;  http://www.rhydian-roberts.co.uk/

<-- Yes I've met him
These are a couple of photos from his last concert:
